PCS Young Members & Proud – LGBT+ History Month Film Club
LGBT+ History Month is an opportunity to reflect on the experience and struggles of LGBT+ people in Britain and around the world, and to celebrate and encourage individual and collective activism to continue to challenge the discrimination that LGBT+ people, continue to face on a daily basis.
PCS Scotland Young Members and Proud have come together to host a Young Member’s Film Club by screening Pride, the story of the London-based gay and lesbian activist group (LGSM) that lent their support and solidarity to a group of Welsh miners during the 1984 miner’s strike.
The Guest speaker at this event is Kris Hendry, PCS Proud Chair and member of the STUC LGBT+ Workers’ Committee.
The event will be held from 6.00 pm on Tuesday 26th of February at The Griffin, 266 Bath Street, Glasgow G2 4JP. Please see attached the poster advertising this event.
The Film Club is open to all who wish to celebrate LGBT+ History Month. Please feel free to share this event with colleagues and friends within the wider movement who may be interested in attending.
